My First Pair of Socks - Class 3 of 3

Description: Knit your first pair of socks. In this class knit your first socks using worsted weight yarn.  You will learn the anatomy of a sock (cuff, leg, heel, gusset, foot and toe and how to measure for a perfect fit.  This class will be taught in three 2 hour sessions.  And there will be homework in between sessions.   Session one you learn the anatomy of a sock, cast on and knit in the round using either dpns or 2 circular needles.  Create a ribbed cuff and establish design of your choice for the leg.  Session 2 you will learn techniques for turning the heel.  Session three you will learn techniques for shaping and finishing the toe. 
Skills required:  Knit and purl.  Cast on, cast off.  Be proficient at knitting in the round on dpn’s or with two circular needles. 
Materials:  DK or worsted weight
yarn in a light color.  Set of double-pointed needles or 2 circular needle in appropriate size for yarn, locking stitch marker, scissors, and a tapestry needle.   All supplies are available in the shop.
