Easy Two Color Cowl - (Advanced Beginner to Intermediate)

EASY 2 COLOR COWL- $45 – Saturday March 18 – 10am to 1pm

Description: Great introduction to color work.  Learn how to manage and carry 2 colors throughout your work using floating locks for a clean finish.  We will make a cowl in the round.  This is an INTERMEDIATE class.  You must be comfortable knitting in the round on one circular needle. 

Skills Required: Knit, Purl, Knit in the round, Advanced Beginner to Intermediate knitter. 

Materials: 1 skein each of two contrasting colors in DK or Worsted weight yarn.  1 24 in circular needle in the appropriate size for the yarn.

Learn the Brioche Stitch

 

LEARN THE BRIOCHE STITCH - $30

Description: The Brioche Stitch is a combination of stitches that makes a nice, thick, double-sided fabric. You will learn to make this beautiful stitch in a single color and then in 2 colors.  This is the perfect stitch for making quick beautiful hats, scarves, cowls as well as more complex garments. 

Skills Required:  Knit, purl, yarn over (YO), knit 2 together (k2tog).

Materials:  Not included.  Please bring at least 5 yards each of two complimentary yarns and 10 yards of another yarn. Needlesappropriate for the weight of the yarn you are using.  (Needles and yarn are available in the shop for a 10% discount).  We recommend a bulky or super bulky yarn such as the Mirasol Yaya for this class to get the full effect of the brioche.

Learn Tunisian Crochet

TUNISIAN CROCHET – $30 – 

Description: Tunisian crochet is considered by many to be a cross between knitting and crochet.  The distinctive fabric created by this technique looks almost woven instead of either knitted or crocheted.   Tunisian crochet is typically worked on a long hook with a stopper on the end -  similar to a knitting needle that also has a stopper on the end so that the stitches held on the tool do not fall off.  In this class we will make a small case to carry your phone or notions using multiple types of stitches and colors.  . 

Skills Required:  Basic Crochet skills.  Chain.

Decorative Crochet Edges for Knit Finishing $30
